Guests love seeing great reviews on Host profiles, but earning those reviews can be one of the toughest challenges for a Host who is just starting out. That's why we've compiled this list of tips to help Hosts earn their first (and future) reviews!

1. Offer Discounts to Family and Friends!

Spreading the word about your dog sitting services helps in more ways than one! By telling your family and friends about your business, you begin the process of obtaining word-of-mouth referrals. If they tell their family and friends about you, you'll eventually have a network of potential clients!

In addition, your friends and family are likely to leave a great review on your profile! Let them know how much it will help you in growing your business and offer a discounted rate. They'll get a great pet sitting experience for their pup at a low price, and you'll benefit from their review of their stay. 

2. Give Handwritten Thank You Notes

Because your face-to-face interaction with human Guests is limited to drop-off and pick-up, it can be easy for them to forget to leave a review even if the experience was great. Sending them away with a handwritten note can make you extra memorable. You can tell them how great their pups were on Vacay, let them know that you'd love to see them again, and kindly ask that they review their experience!

You might even consider sending them home with some treats or a photo from their stay!

3. Send a Polite Reminder

Guests should receive their review reminder by email one day after their Vacay ends. Sending a polite reminder a couple days later can help to ensure that they leave a review. You might consider something like, "I hope you are doing well after your vacation. I really enjoyed watching your pup while you were away, and I was hoping you could take a moment to leave me a review. It would really help my business!"

4. Offer Future Discounts

In your handwritten notes or follow-up reminders, you might even consider offering Guests a discounted rate on a future stay in exchange for a review. You can accomplish this by sending them a "Custom Quote" on their next stay. Just be sure to keep track of these offers to ensure you send the agreed upon rate!
